  Low Energy Air/Water Systems

Low Energy Air/Water Systems
are similar to air/water systems except this new technology uses approximately 80% less compressed air to make snow. Our low energy snowmaking technology can dramatically reduce compressed air costs and overall snowmaking energy costs. Most of the system components are the same as air/water systems except the snow guns are different, and fewer or much smaller air compressors are required. Ratnik low energy systems are available as both manual and fully automatic systems with a full array of customized features and options.

Advantages of Low Energy Air/Water Systems are as follows:
  • Compressed air energy consumption is low.
  • The cost of unit quantity of snow made is lower than any other method available.
  • Snow guns are simple to operate and require little maintenance.
  • No electric power is required on the mountain.
  • Automation is simple. Guns are either on or off.
Characteristics are as follows:
  • Temperatures need to be 30°F (-1.1°C) wet bulb or colder in order to start snowmaking.
  • Higher water pressures at the guns are required for efficient operation.
